Xico is one of the 212 municipalities of Veracruz, its name comes from the Nahuatl words Xicotl, Xicochimalcoque meaning "nico de jicotes". It is located in the foothills of the Cofre de Perote in the central area of the State of Veracruz.
On December 6, 2011, it was declared a "magical town" as part of the federal program in recognition of towns that have a great cultural, gastronomic or artistic richness.
The most important fair, held in July, the entire main street is covered with a carpet made with colored sawdust, which creates truly original images where block by block the design changes.
