EL HUERTO is located on the shores of Lake Catemaco, in the region of Los Tuxtlas (Veracruz). Land of Olmec past, today it serves as the guardian of the northernmost humid tropical rain forest of the American continent and is classified as a Biosphere Reserve. It is a treasure protected by volcanoes, mountains, jungles, waterfalls and rivers, lakes and lagoons, mangroves and the sea.

The ancient Toxtli was once sought after for its gold, jade, turquoise, cocoa and precious feathers, and today it is for its lush nature. At EL HUERTO, we invite you to discover it all.

SAILING CLASSES

Do you want to learn a fascinating sport without polluting the planet? Here you can learn to sail! It is 100% ecological. Maybe this will be your first step in becoming a sailor? You will start you adventure using FLIPER and OPTIMIST (school-boat) and then move up to LASER and CATAMARAN.

ORGANIC AGRICULTURE

At the Huerto, we deeply value what the land has to offer. So we give respect to it by only planting organically. The vegetables, herbs and fruits we grow are free of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Our free-range hens live happily without hormones and without antibiotics. The eggs they produce are 100% natural and healthy.
