The construction of its oldest pyramid dates back approximately 3500 years before the earlier preclassical period.
It is named magical town because it has the remains of an ancient and huge pre-Hispanic pyramid that measures 404 meters per side with more than eight kilometers open in its interior. After the Conquest, it served as sustenance for the town of Los Remedios.
